Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching at Lighthouse Recovery supports people living with mental health challenges and addiction‑related impacts to navigate daily life, strengthen independence and work toward meaningful personal goals.

Our Recovery Coaches work alongside individuals using a recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed approach that recognises lived experience and supports long‑term wellbeing beyond clinical treatment.

What Is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching focuses on supporting individuals to understand, manage and coordinate the supports they need to live a fulfilling life.

Rather than providing therapy, Recovery Coaches help individuals:

  • Identify recovery goals and priorities

  • Understand available supports and services

  • Build skills for everyday living

  • Strengthen confidence, choice and control

  • Navigate systems such as health, housing, education and employment

Recovery Coaching complements counselling and clinical services by providing practical, ongoing support in real‑world settings.

How Lighthouse Recovery Coaches Support You

Our Psychosocial Recovery Coaches work collaboratively and flexibly to support each person’s unique recovery journey.

Support may include:

  • Developing and reviewing personalised recovery goals

  • Building routines, structure and healthy habits

  • Supporting emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • Strengthening social connection and community participation

  • Supporting transitions after treatment or hospital stays

  • Assisting with appointments, referrals and service coordination

  • Supporting self‑advocacy and decision‑making

Coaching can be short‑term or ongoing, depending on individual needs and goals.

Recovery‑Oriented and Trauma‑Informed Practice

Lighthouse Recovery is committed to safe, respectful and empowering support. Our Recovery Coaches work from a strengths‑based framework that:

  • Recognises lived experience and personal expertise

We believe recovery is personal and non‑linear, and we meet people where they are.
